These terms govern your use of BuckUp, an iPhone altimeter app published by Michael Leger in the United States. BuckUp is a souvenir and a gauge — not a navigation, aviation, or emergency tool. By tapping LET'S GO on first launch you accept these terms.
BuckUp is an altimeter and session-logging app for off-road and outdoor activities. It uses your iPhone's barometric pressure sensor (CMAltimeter) and (when you grant permission) GPS to estimate altitude. The full feature catalogue is in our glossary.
Altitude readings are approximate. They drift with weather, temperature, battery state, and sensor calibration. BuckUp is a souvenir of your ride, not a precision instrument.
Do not use BuckUp for:
Always use proper maps, recovery gear, trail knowledge, and communications gear. See our support page for safe-use guidance.
Do not interact with BuckUp while operating a vehicle. Hand the phone to a passenger, or set it up before you start driving and let it run in the background. You are responsible for following all applicable traffic and distracted-driving laws in your jurisdiction.
BuckUp works without an account. If you choose to sign in (via Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email + password), you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. We do not store your password. Account deletion is supported at any time — see our privacy policy.
BuckUp offers three optional one-time unlocks, sold as non-consumable in-app purchases through Apple's App Store:
Prices are listed in US dollars. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and restore on any device signed in to the same Apple ID. Refunds via Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. See pricing.
Your Buck Log, registered rig, callsign, per-session photos, and session history are yours. We store them locally to provide the service. If you share a Buck Shot image, you are responsible for where and how you post it.
We may update BuckUp over time. Updates install through the App Store under Apple's standard terms. Material changes to these Terms will be announced in-app.
We may discontinue BuckUp or specific features at any time. If we shut down the cloud sync service, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and provide a way to export your data.
BUCKUP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that altitude readings are accurate, that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any feature will be available at any given time.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) fifty dollars ($50).
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Louisiana. BuckUp is distributed via the US App Store only at launch.
